The Barn

The Barn is a circa 1880 limestone structure that had humble beginnings housing livestock.  Today  The Barn is meticulously renovated to provide guests the maximum country elegance, comfort and luxury.  The Barn has central heat and air, private phone, TV/VCR, stereo with CD, king size bed, a fireplace equipped with wall switch operated gas logs, and a whirlpool bath tub for two.  Large glass windows that used to be doors through which animals entered and exited The Barn, provide a panoramic view of the ancient Live Oak trees and lush lawns that slope down to the creek.  A private and charming vine covered  lattice porch beckons you to enter.  In the morning, you may enjoy your continental plus breakfast on this porch while you greet the beautiful Hill Country day. 

Inside The Barn your eyes will be delighted by bright area rugs on warm, rustic pine floors, old wood that has absorbed the strength of the work of many generations, and ancient rock walls that are sixteen inches thick.  The ambiance will soothe your spirit and you will just feel yourself relaxing.  Maybe you'll stretch out on the leather sofa for a nap; or, maybe you'll just steep in the sense of peace while you listen to some great music or read.  There are antiques and folk art to enjoy, including an original lightening rod from the Itz farmhouse.  

Two special people can share dreams and promises in the two cozy chairs facing the fireplace; or, you can watch the firelight dance on the old rock walls from the king size pine pencil post bed, nestled down in fine linens and plump pillows.

The bathroom is a very special feature of The Barn, and provides the ultimate sensuous bathing experience.  The whirlpool bathtub FOR TWO is encased in bleached white pine, and rests on large slabs of native limestone.  Sunlight, or starlight, filters through a beautiful antique leaded glass window and a skylight.  Of course there are lots of big fluffy towels and terry bath robes for your comfort.

For the ultimate in spiritual and physical rejuvenation, The Barn also offers a 'spa room' that is available only to you.  You may select from a menu of spa therapies offered by licensed aestheticians and massage therapists in complete privacy, without leaving your guesthouse. 

The Barn accommodates two non-smoking adults.
A two night minimum stay is required on weekends, 
holidays and  Fredericksburg special events.
