The Log Cabin was built shortly after Karl Itz and his bride, Henrietta
Evers, settled here in the early 1850's. The first Itz family raised
eight children here. A stay in The Log Cabin lets you reflect on the
character and strength of the pioneers, while enjoying all of today's luxury
amenities in a charming cottage style decor. 
It is hard to pass up the rocking chairs on the front porch of The Log Cabin,
but when you step through the door and see the sunlight glinting on the old
longleaf pine floors, and the original fieldstone fireplace, you immediately
feel a sense of peace and relaxation. You can continue the mood with some
special music, or a nostalgic movie. The stereo and TV/VCR are hidden in
an antique jelly cupboard. Or maybe you just want to enjoy a romantic
sojourn in front of the fireplace.
 The bathroom is a very special addition to The Log
Cabin, providing the absolute ultimate romantic bathing experience. The
look of old limestone and plaster walls and a cedar ceiling supported by old
juniper beams provide the perfect setting for the whirlpool bath FOR TWO tucked
into the corner and encased in limestone. In the opposite corner you're delighted to find a small kiva fireplace, equipped with gas logs and operated by
a wall switch, to warm your bath on chilly evenings or mornings. 
Antique stained glass windows framed
in peely blue paint filter light through pink roses. Big fluffy towels and
soft terry robes make you warm, drowsy, and ready to pile into the beautifully
dressed king size bed. The French doors in the bedroom let the fresh Hill
Country breezes and the songs of Mother Nature lull you to sleep. In the
morning, step through the French doors to enjoy your continental plus breakfast
on the secluded back porch, with a breathtaking view of Palo Alto Creek.
Your spirit will be renewed.
The
Log Cabin also features a 'spa loft' that is available only to you. You
may select from a menu of spa therapy treatments provided in the privacy of your
guesthouse. Licensed massage therapists and esthetiticians perform all
spa therapies. The
Log Cabin accommodates two non-smoking adults.
A
two night minimum stay is required on weekends, holidays
and special
Fredericksburg events.
